Types of fire alarm systems:

There are several types of fire alarm systems depending on the functionality and the integrated components.

• Conventional fire alarm system: A conventional fire alarm  works with physical cabling to connect several detectors and call points. devices like smoke and heat detectors in conventional fire alarm  are connected to a central control panel that monitors and manages the various components of the fire alarm system. while conventional system do identify which zone an initiating device is in, it isn’t able to pinpoint the specific initiating device and its location. These fire alarms are cost-effective, but they require a lot of maintenance and are not as easily scalable as addressable fire alarm . These systems are suitable for small buildings.
• Addressable fire alarm systems: An addressable fire alarm  is often considered an efficient system as compaired to conventional fire alarm  because it uses advanced new technologies for enhanced reliability and greater user control. The system has same detection principle, except that each detector can be given a specific address that allows to identify the exact location of the detector that initiated the alarmrather than identifying a zone this can be seen in the fire alarm control panel. Since the devices can share one cable wires up to the last device, it does not require many wires. Both ends of the wire is loop connected to the fire alarm control panel. These system are very suitable for large and high buildings.
• Wireless fire alarm systems: A wireless alarm system does not use any conduit and cable wires. The hardware and programming in these systems are higher than the wired systems. The devices are battery powered and can be placed anywhere and can be easily relocate if needed.
